TRAMWAY COPPER TRAIL.

A well attended, and representative meeting of St Albans and Merivalo residents was held at the Rugby Street Schoolroom last evening in connection with the Tramway Copper Trail undertaking. Mr W. Bottrell presided, and much enthusiasm was shown by those present. Mr J. C. Baldwin was elected secretary, and an Entertainments Committee was appointed. It was decided to hold the first committee meeting next Monday. ' At the Linwood School last evening, a meeting of residents was held to consider means of assisting tho Tramway Copper Trail movement. Mr H. F. Herbert presided over a good attendance. A strong Entertainments Committee was set up, and tho sale of fifty rolls of tickets was undertaken. Promises of support were received from tho Avonsidc and Dallington Soldiers' Aid Societies, and it was decided to invite the help of the Linwood and Avonside Burgesses' Associations in the matter of the disposal of tickets. _ Every person present undertook to dispose of one roll

During an interval at tho patriotic meeting at the Sumner Town Hall last evening, Mrs H. W. Heslop sang " The Tramway Copper Trail," which resulted in a shower of coins amounting to £1 ss.
