FOUND DROWNED. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, August 4. The body of Henry Carter,. fanner, of Mangero, was found in the Manukau on Saturday. He was married and aged fifty-nine. Deceased left home on Fridav morning to attend a market in the city.

DUNEDIN, August 4. A married man named Houghton, whoso family lives at Agnew Street, South Dunedin, was drowned this morning. In company with a young man named Simolenski. ho was fishing at the back of Cape Saunders lighthouse, when ho was washed off. There is a high sea running and very little prospect of recovering the body.

Whilst a man named Isaac White was soldering a pin into the plug of his motor-car at Little River yesterday, he upset a vessel containing benzine. The liquid caught fire, and White received severe burns on his right forearm. He was brought into the Christchurch Hospital last evening and was treated in the outpatients' department.
