MINERAL OIL.
GOVERNMENT CARGOES COMING
[From Oue Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, January 31. Two steamers .with cargoes of mineral oil for New Zealand are expected soon to meet tho shortage, which ha® been becoming more and more pronounced during the last three months. Some private cargoes are also said to bo on tho water.
The Prima Minister informed a representative of the " Lyttelton Times'" that the steamers coming at tho disposal of the Government are carrying oil at a special freight, and if any benefit in price is to result from this arrangement, the Government is going to ensure that the consumer of mineral oil will get it in full.
