The High Commissioner lias telegraphed regarding hemp:—The War Department- understands that there are French ships running from Australia to France, and suggests that hemp should be shipped to Australia in local steamers for re-shipment by that route. They state that in view of the inward tonnage situation it is considered most undesirable for such hemp to be brought to the United Kingdom for re-shipment.
