Lines, who is reported to have been killed in action, was a son of the late Mr John Luies, oi Barry’s Bay. He was born at Barry s Bay, where he received his education, and prior’ to enlisting was engaged in the butchering trade at Petone. He was a brother of Mrs R. Campbell, Westminster Street, and Mrs T. Dick, Park Street, Woolston. Advice has been received that Private O. L. F. Moriarty, of Ashburton, who left New Zealand with the Sixteenth Reinforcements, was admitted to Southwark Military Hospital, Dulwich, on January 7, suffering from laryngitis. Airs D. Allen has received cable Advice stating that her husband,' Private Alfred Allen, of the Twenty-eighth Reinforcements, has been wounded in the chest, and was admitted to hospital.
