NEWS AND NOTES. Mrs Colquhoun (Dnnedin) is the guest of Miss Wilson (Cashmere Hills). Mr and Mrs Georgo Gould are staying at Hanmcr. Miss Fenwick (Maraweka) is visiting Mrs Elworthy.

Miss Ella Helmore is staying- with Mrs Millton (South Canterbury). Mrs J. Prouse (Wellington) is visiting tins city. Mrs C. E. Thomas (Timaru) is staying at-the Clarendon.Miss Dora Temple (Masterton) airived from the north on Saturday.

Mrs J. D. Edmonds and Miss D. Koig (Sumner) are spending a few days at Hanraer.

M.r and Mrs H. J. Beswick arrived back in Christehurch on Saturday after a short visit to Wellington.

Miss Bathgate and Miss Northcote are on a visit to Miss Tripp, Oran Gorge. Miss Mildred Brodrick (Wellington), who has been visiting Timaru, left for Wellington on Saturday night.

The Rev Mr Monaghan and Mrs Monaghan, with their children, are spending a fortnight's holiday in Christehurch, before taking up duty at Pahiatua, and ar 0 the guests of Mrs S. Sims, Bealey Avenue.

Tlie students attending the cooking classes at the Christehurch Training College will tnko charge of the Red Cross Sales Depot on Friday, November 30, and Saturday, December 1. Sister Lloyd, joined the staff of the Codford Hospital on her arrival from New Zealand. Tlie matrons of Walton and Brockenhurst, Miss F. Wilson and Miss V.--Maclean, have been on leaVe together in Ireland.
