An official message says:—A fire on October 20 exploded the magazine of the dreadnought Imperatritsa Maria, which sank. The killed totalled 213. (Tlie Imperatritsa Maria was one of the new dreadnoughts of the Black Sea fleet, there being three in the class. Her displacement was 22,500 tens, and she carried twelve 12inch guns. Her maximum designed speed was twenty-one knots. These battleships carried their b ; g guns in four triple turrets, and like tho American dreadnoughts used two towers, instead of the tripod masts utilised in the British design.)
