DAFFODIL DAY.

COLLECTIONS TOTAL £420. The final meeting of the Daffodil Day Committee was held in the Art Gallery yesterday; present—Mesdames Chilton (in the chair), Holland, Tobin, Carey, Beian and Thompson, Misses M. and 11. Tabart and Messrs Royds, Hart, Donaldson and Mason. The statement of accounts showed the total collections for tho day as £424 4s 4d, and the total expenses £3 5s lOd, leaving a net credit balance of £420 18s 6d. The following resolution was passed: "That the honorary treasurer be empowered to hand over the sum of £2lO 9s 3d, being half the net proceeds ot daffodil day collection, to the treasurer of the I .M.C.A. Ladies' Auxiliary Hutment Fund, as a contribution towards the cost of erection a YM'CA. hutment in France for Jsew Zealand soldiers, and the sum of £2lO 9< 3d being the other half of the proceeds.' to the treasurer of the Lady Liverpool Fund as a contribution towards the Christmas Gift Fund for New Zealand soldiers." Mrs Chilton, on behalf ot tho Y M.C.A. Ladies' Auxiliary, and Mrs Holland, on behalf of the Lady Liverpool Fund, expressed the wannest thanks to all those who had taken an active part in making daffodil day such a. success. Mr Royds, on bchalt of the Y M.C.A. National Committee, expressed the sincere thanks and appreciation of his committee .for tho splendid work of the ladies in connection with daffodil day. A vote of thanks was passed to all who had heln-od either in services rendered as pickers, bunchevs or sellers, or as donors of flowers in connection with the motor transport service.
