In response to inquiries with regard to the public inspection of the National Register the C.D.C. on Saturday evening received the following telegram from the Recruiting Board:—

"Local rolls. for • all districts in No. 0 group posted you to-night's steamer, but please make it widely known- that the surest way of ascertaining if a man is registered is for all men of military age to fill' in form of application for certificate of enrolment. A man who sent in schedule under National Registration Act and whose name does not appear on local roll should not fill, hi enrolment card under Military Service Act until he has applied for his certificate, and been advised by Government statistician that his name is . not oi: the register, otherwise there is a danger that his name.may appear twice in register and'so increase his chance in the ballot.—J.vD. A 'Gazette" extraordinary, orders the enrobneat of the second division of the Expeditionary Force reserve-within fourteen days. ' 200,000 RESERYISTS. • ALREADY ON DOMINION ROLL. It is estimated that under the Military Service Act there will be some 10,<X)O fresh enrolments of men who did not register under the National Registration Act. New Zealanders being a migratory people, who never stay long m one spot, it is estimated that the number of men who will require to notify change of address since tho National Register was taken will be auything from 50,000 to, 100.000. The value of the enrolment caies to be issued being very considerable, it is reckoned that practically every Reservist will anply for his certificate There being 200,000 reservists already on the roll, the task of issuing these certificates, therefore, presents the greatest difficulty, and arrangements have been f made by the Government Statistician for the employment of a large staff to cope with the work. For this purpose he has secured special offices in Routh's Buildings, in Featherston Street, Wellington, says the "Post." A big effort will be made to get the whole of these' certificates issued by tho end of the present month, so that every man of military age will then be armed with his certificate, and be able to satisfy all inquiries that may be made of him by employers and police constables.
