ANTARCTIC SPECIMENS.
NEW ZEALAND MUSEUMS TO BE CONSIDERED. [From Ora Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, August 18. The assistant secretary' to the British Museum Trustees has written to ' the Hon .G. W. Rus* sell, Minister in charge of -the Dominion Museum, in reference to his request that this museum, and those m the other three chief centres of New Zealand should have a selection of the duplicate speeimens brought homo bv tho British Antarctic .Expedition of 1910-13. Tho letter states that the Now Zealand museums mentioned will receive most favourable consideration when tho distribution of duplicates takes place, and that a first set will lie placed at tho disposal of tho New Zealand Government. A good part of the collection is now in the hands of specialists, for tho purpose* of description, and owing to tho war there is hound to be s.ome delay in the progiess of the work and distribution of duplicates. ■
