THE AMMUNITION SUPPLY.

[Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, August 17,

The Minister of Defence announces that tho supply of small arms nmmuition is now good and that there is a prospect of on ample supply of artillery ammunition. Tho Lewis quick-firing guns are proving excellent weapons in the training camps, and the work of training the men has '■ in consequenco been exceptionally far advanced. As regards money for the supply of comforts for the sick and wounded at Home, both the High Commissioner and the War Contingent Association have substantial funds in hand, the New Zealand patriotic societies having contributed generously. Tho Minister leaves for Wellington to-morrow.
