The Auckland Waterside Workers' Union held a meeting attended by four hundred men and passed a resolution conveying a sweeping denunciation of tho Military Service Bill, which was characterised in th> resolution as serving no purpose but to secure cheap soldiers, to abolish trades unionism and to force the people of New Zealand under military domination. Only fifteen or twenty members voted against the resolution.
