EXCLUSION OF GERMANS.
[Per Press Association.] NAPIER, June 19\t a crowded meeting in the Municipal Theatre to-night, when Lady Stout gave an anti-German address, the following resolutions wero carried:— " (1) That this large and representative meeting of the citizens of Napier hereby unanimously resolve thafc the Prime Minister be-respectfully requested to at onco have legislation passed to prevent any naturalised British subject of German parentage" from holding or being appointed to the. position of a member of the Legislative Council, House of Representatives or council of any local authority, or from voting at any such elections." " That this meeting views with alarm the amount of German duplicity carried on throughout the British Empire and. urges the Government to take stronger measures when dealing with the question of interning Germans in this Dominion." " That this meeting respectfully requests the Prim© Minister to take up as a Government measure the Bill introduced bv Mr Vigor Brown, entitled the Naturalised Subjects' Franchise BilL"
