IMPROVEMENTS TO PROCEED, The Mayor referred in the City Council last night to tho report of the engineers on the improvement ot tlie Avon, and said' that all that remained to be done was for the council and Drainage Board to carry out the improvements. He moved that the recommendations should be approved, and the work carried' out-. . Councillor H. J. Otley seconded tho motion. . , , , ... "Where do you intend to get the money?" asked Councillor F. Bur- " The money is all in hand," said the Mayor. "It has been handed over by Mr 0. Louisson, one of the Floral Fete trustees." The motion was carried.
