INTENSE ARTILLERY DUEL. The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, June 17. In Belgium there was an intense artillery duel during tho night in the sector Lombaertzyde. IN THE VOSGES. A FRENCH RAID. Tho High Commissioner reports:— ' LONDON, June 17. In the Vosges, following on a violent French bombardment on lT.il! 125, east of Tlmnn, an infantry detachment penetrated the first and second German lines, which were cleared of -the enemy. The detachment returned, bringing with them prisoners. They suffered no losses themselves. AVIATORS’ ACTIVITY. RAIDS BY FRENCH AND GERMANS. Tho High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, June 17. During tho night throe enemy machines bombarded tho region of Dunkirk, there being no victims and small damage being done. At eight o clock in the evening enemy machines bombarded Bar lo Due, four being killed and fifteen wounded. French aerial squadrons dropped thirty-three shells on stations at Longuyon, Montmedy and Audun-le-Roman, on the Thianville-Montmedy railway line.

The “Matin” says that Flight-Ad-jutant Ribie.ro brought down Captain Boelkc, Germany's champion aviator, on the Verdun front. FRENCH PARLIAMENT. SECRET SESSION ADJOURNED. PARIS, Juno 16. The secret session of tho French Chamber of Deputies was adjourned until to-morrow.
