RIFLE SHOOTING.

KATAPOI CLUB. The fourth and final for the handicap cup was completed on Saturday, the conditions being seven shots at 200, COO and 700 yards. Following were the. leading scores:—

In this competition the condition were tho best three out of four shoots to count. The highest aggregate scorers were;—L. Oram 291, F. Richards 285. J. Brydon 283, W. Mar'sden 2P2. J. Wriffht 277, J. H. AVilliams 272, J. G. Yello-.vlces 270.

VETERANS' CLUB. The Veterans' Rifle Club held their seventh spoon competition at the Redelift's range on Saturday. The conditions were ten shots each at 500yds and GOOyde. Tha day was one of the hottest experienced tins sea-. son. The wind at 500yds was dead m, hut at 600yds it varied from two degrees left to five degrees riant. The winner of the competition was Rifleman B. Shaw, with 95 points. The following are some oi the best scores:—

LINCOLN CLUB. On the Tai Tapu rnnge on Saturday the members of the Lincoln Defence Rifle Club fired the final of a series cf five competitions, three to count. A puffy north-vest wind required careful wn tching. On the scores being totalled it was found that H. J. Wilson and J. Liddlo had tied with 265 point" each from scratch. Five shots each were fired lit the longer range to decide, the winner, Liiidic scoring 23 points and Wilson •21 points. The season's programme will be continued on Saturday next, when - the second of three shoots for the Rhodes champion cup will be fired.
