SENT TO GAOL.

1 NORWEGIAN WOMAN'S PROGERMAN OUTBURST. [Pbr Pebbb Association.] PALMERSTON NORTH, Feb. 21. As a sequel to an occurrence at the railway station some weeks ago Eleen Fuller was charged before Mr Poynton, at the Magistrate's Court this morning, that she made a gross reference to King George and the British people, and said, " When the Kaiser comes he will have a lot of you slaughtered. The Kaiser is my lord and master." Accused failed to appear or be represented by counsel. The charge was made under the W T ar Regulations Act, 1914. Evidence was given by John Stanbrook, railway porter, who stated that accused was not drunk at the time, but was very excited. He heard the language complained of. In reviewing the facts of the case Sergeant Henry informed the Cortrt that accused was a Norwegian by birth. She had been resident in the Dominion for forty years. She was seventy years of age. In imposing a penalty of two months' imprisonment his Worship observed that the case was not one for a - fine. It was an illustration of gross ingratitude. Accused was, no doubt, well treated in a British dominion, and enjoyed all the privileges of citizenship. Her utterances were abominable. '.Die case was one for a severe penalty, and showed the necessity for strict dealing.
