ADDINGTON BURGESSES' ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the Addmgt.on Burgesses' Association was held last Thursday evening in the Dickens Street Hall, Mr E. Parlane presiding over a large attendance. A deputation was headed by Mesdames Bean and Merrie, who asked for the support of the association towards raising" funds to purchase material for the Addington branch of the Red Cross. it was decided to call a public meeting at an early date, and a small committee was set up to arrange details. On the motion of Mr Brown, the secretary was instructed to write to the postmaster drawing attention to the inconvenience caused the Aodington public through the post office being closed between 12.15 p.m. and 1 p.m. daily. , . The matter of a shelter at the Bank of New Zealand for tram passengers again came up' for discussion, and it was decided to write to the Tramway Board on the subject.
