SHIPPING-NOTES. : In order to ship about 1000 bales of wool for Wellington, efforts were made off East Head on Thursday night- to intercept the Petone, bound from Wanganui to Bluff, but those on board the John. On account of Thursday being a holiday in Sydney, the departure of the Victoria for Auckland was postponed till yesterday. She will not arrive at the northern port till Tuesday, February 1, a day late. Departure will be taken for southern ports on Wednesday, February 2, and on February 5 the Victoria will leave Wellington for Dunedin direct, thus omitting the usual call at Lyttelton.
