KING'S THEATRE. To-night in the King's Theatre ft big feature film entitled "No Greater Love" will be screened for the first time in Christehurch. Mdlle Regina Badet will be seen aa the leading char* acter, a 'dancer, and it is stated that never before has the famous actress played such an emotional role, nor have her beauty and charms been better revealed than in "The Vision of Salome," with which she captures the heart of a great financier. The dancer is also a mother with a daughter unspoiled by contamination of the world in which she herself lives. . The climax: of the story is just what such » mother would do for, her daughter's sake. In addition to the big picture a bright comedy, in which the favourites Anita Stewart and Earle Williams appear to* great advantage, will be submitted, and the latest " Pa the Gazette" will also 1 be shown. GRAND THEATRE, j The management of the Grand; Theatre announces that it has secured l the exclusive rights for two remarkable picture productions which will be shown. for the first time to-day. ( The first i picture is the Essanay production, "Temper," in which Henry B, Wal- ' thall takes the leading Dart. He is considered in film circles to be the i greatest emotional actor in front of the camera at the present day. The other feature is an interesting and educational series of pictures entitled "Salisbury's Wild Life of America." Professor Salisbury Is a well-known American scientist who has had aa his associates on these "wild life" expeditions such worldfamed men as Rex Beach and Jack London. The camera has been taken right into the haunts of animals ranging from bears and lions to the migratory wild fowl. GLOBE THEATRE. " The Elusive Treasure Box," the, twelfth instalment of "The Million Dollar Mystery" serial, will be the principal attraction on the new pro* gramme at the Globe Theatre to-day.. The other pictures will consist of two comedies, "Bertie's Holiday" and "A Mistake in Type-setting," a drama "She Walketh Alone," and the latest edition of the " Australian Gasette." EVERYBODY'S"" THEATRE. To-day, at noon, a new programme will be screened at Everybody's Thea? tre. The star item *is an adapta* tion of Augustus Evans Wilson's novel, "At the Mercy of Tiberius." Florence La Badie, the star in the production, " has had a meteoric career in the silent drama. Since leaving college at Notre Dame, in Montreal, ,she has appeared in scores of notable roles under the Thanhouser banner, and is now considered among the first ten leading play- \ ers of the world. attraction is the keystone two-reel comedy, " Only a Messenger Boy" with Ford Sterling as the star.. An interesting "Topicil Gazette" will show many scenes in England and France. The orchestra will play at tne afternoon and evening sessions.

QUEEN'S THEATRE. '

The star feature of the new programme to be shown at. the Queen's Theatre to-day will be a sensational Kav Bee drama, entitled! "The Knights of the Trails," featuring Mr William S. Hart, the well-known picture artist. The supporting pictures will be. an Edison drama, "For His Mother," a comedy,' "The Life Guard." views of Tunis and the latest " Topical Budget.''

SYDENHAM PICTURES.

To-night a complete change of pro* gramme will be scieened at the Sydenham Theatre. The "star" feature will be a film adaption by th€ Eclipse Company of the by William Le Queux, " No Greater. Love," featuring Mdlle Regina Badet, the well-known European film tragedienne. Another attraction is "The Girl from Heaven." a Broadway comedy in which those popular artists Anita Stewart and Earle Williams are featured.

MUSICAL SOCIETY.

At His Majesty's Theatre this evelK ing the Christehurch Musical Society will give a performance of Handel's oratorio " The Messiah." On this occasion the public will have an opportunity of hearing for the first time veral artists who have made a study of this class of music. The solos will be taken bv Miss Clara Holdgate (soprano), Miss Dulcie Mitchell (contralto), Mr L. Bowron (tenor) and Mr W. G. A. Schwartz (bass). The chorus will be assisted by the Cathedral choirboys, and the accompaniments will be played by a large orchestra. Seats at all prices mav be reserved at Messrs Milner and Thompson's, where tickets are obtainable.

CHRISTMAS PANTOMIME.

Some two hundred children are being trained by Miss A. J. Menries and Mr W. P. Wauchop to take part in a Christmas pantomime, entitled /'The Sleeping Beautv." The many delighted patrons"of "Phyllis and the -Fairies ' can look forward this year to an entertainment of even greater merit. Several new features have been introduced. Ballets of the season, a magnificent series of tableaux, will be given by 150 girls. Beautiful and elaborate costumes have been specially designed, and these will have a setting pf appropriate scenery, which will turn tne stage into a veritable scene from fairyland'. There will also be a full operatic orchestra of fifteen performers. Ftiiriea, jesters, courtiers, niaida <* honour and gipsies will be in evidence, all trained carefully for their Yanous warts. The whole of the proceeds are to be devoted to the Canterbury Patriotic Fund. The management have decided to produce the extravaganza this vear for five nights, Mmmencing at the Theatre Royai °n Friday next. The box plan is open at Messrs MUner and Thompson's.
