ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FALL FROM TRAMWAY REPAIR CAR. Yesterday a linesman named Joseph Grofski, residing at 45, Gresford Street, St Albans, fell from the platform of the tramway repair car while working on tho overhead wires near Shag Rock, Sum-, nea\ Ho struck tho rocks at the side of the road and received several cuts on tho head and body. Ho was brought to the Christchurch Hospital by tram-car about 10 a.in., but it wai found' that his injuries were not serious. A CHILD’S DEATH. INQUEST AT KATAPOI. Mr T A. B. Bailey, Coroner, conducted au inquiry at Kaiapoi on Monday into the death of George. David Doran, aged four years. Evidence was given to the effect that a spring dray had been left in the Shipping Company’s yard propped up by the two shaft props. Later on one of the employees discovered the child lying under a shaft apparently dead. * The medical to timony was that the child’s neck and right thigh were broken, death resulting from tho firstnamed injury. A verdict of accidental death was returned. SUDDEN DEATH. [Per Press Association.] SEW,PLYMOUTH, October 19. Mr F. G Mills, North Island representative of M’Gavin and Compnhy, Dunedin, died here suddenly from heart failure.
