TH& 1 Reward for Skill With the Camera. ™ HE PROPRIETORS of the Dominion's favourite bousehold , magazine, the "OANTERBURY TIMES," have pleasure in announcing a PHOTOGRAPHIC . . The Competition is being promoted with a view' to encouraging Photographers of this country to secure Picture* depicting Landscapes, Seascapes, and the Natural Beauties §- and Wonders of New Zealand, and also any class of Picture Study of general interest. 1 . There will be four Classes as follow* : CLASS I—Haw I.aaland Lanrfooaßta, including Pastoral and 'Agricultural, and Bush Scenes, an'd views of the Natural Wonders of the Dominion. CLASS ll—Naw Zealand Saaseapet,. Including Yachting, Boating and Shipping Scenes. CLASS lll—Flfjure Studies, European or Maori. CLASS l V—fiflnoral Collection of Now Zealand Pitotograptte. In thiis section a competitor must enter sis Photographs, each dealing with a separate class. * There will be no limit to the number of Photographs that may be entered, but at least six pictures must be entered in i Class IV., General Collection. The Proprietors of the Canterbury Timet reserve the right to publish any Photograph sent in, and entries will be accepted only on this understanding. All unaccepted Photographs will be returned, provided the necessary postage is enclosed. Entrants are requested to state their names and addresses fully and clearly with entry. Explanatory or descriptive matter must accompany «ach Picture for publication purposes, as it will add to the value of the photograph. Photographs must be original, and must - not have been previously published in any journal. The negative must be taken by an entrant, but the printing of the • Photograph need not necessarily be his own work. The prints may be mountid, unmounted, contact or enlarged. The suitability of a Photograph for reproduction will be taken into consideration in awarding the prixes. Large views are preferable to small ones. Glossy Bromide paper is preferable for reproduction purposes.
