An hour later the ferry steamer" Maori arrived with her decks swarming with visitors. Her passenger list totalled five hundred and thirty-one, but unfortunately her late arrival prevented southern excursionists making a connection with the first express to Invercargill. The primary cause of the delay was brought about by the use ofinferior coal. Shortly after 9 a.m. the Monowat arrived with one .hundred passengers. .. 7 The Maori. Monowai and Moeraki returned northwards last evening with i a total Complement of about eight hun- j dred people. ' ‘
