Wright and Park had a very close match. Park was 1 up at the turn, and they were all square, with 4 to play. Park topped his drive at Bishopscourt and lost his hole,' and the remaining three were halved. Park was unfortunate in not winning the 17th, as his ball moved when he was adjusting it for his second, and he thereby lost a stroke, meaning the difference between a half and a win. Rutherford won the first two holes from Sargood, who, however, squared the match at the sth and stood 1 up at the turn. He increased this to 2 up at the 10th and 3 up at the 12th. The 13th was halved, and Rutherford took the 14th in a good 4. Saxgood, however, took tho next two holes in succession, and with them tho match. Hamilton Smith, who had so fax .not been playing this year, found the want of practice against him, and was down 5 against Humphreys at the turn. He had reduced this to 2 down at the 14th, but going to Bishopscourt. he got into trouble with his teo shot, which iay in a clump of gorse, find he lost this hole and the next also. Humphreys played particularly well going out, reaching the turn in two strokes over bogey. Hewlett stood 1 up at the turn against Young, and improved on this during tho homeward jofimey, his putting being consistent'y good.
