The froaen meat export trade is showing a remarkable increase in quantity and value, and the present season \g totally eclipsing last season. CATTLE BECOMING SCARCE. t THE MEAT TRUST. BRISBANE, Juno 3. Evidence before the Abattoirs Comnission showed that cattle were becoming scarcer in Queensland every year. Competition was much keener, and there word increased prices. ' : Mr Hood, formerly president of the Pastoralists' Association, replying to questions, said that he did not fear American competition. He thought the majority of pastoralists weloomed the Americans opening here. It meant note competition and better prices.
