NEW ZEALAND WINE.

OPINIONS OF AUSTRALIAN EXPERTS.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright, (Received May 22, 8.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 22.

A representative gathering of wine merchants and Air Blunow, Government: expert, met at the New Zealand Government Bureau to test samples of the 1909-10 vintage of light wines produced ■at the Government experimental vineyard at Waerenga. Air Blow, in an introductory speech, said he looked. forward to the time when there would! be i reciprocity between Australia and New Zealand, and wine would be amongst the products covered.

Experts expressed the opinion that the wines were of good body, but capable of improvement as regards blending and finish. New Zenlan.d should be an ideal champagne country. The trade could be made successful by careful handling and the selection of districts and vines. It would be interesting to test samples from other districts.
