In the third round Gillies had an easy victory over Weaver. He gave a superb display, W’eaver being 7 down at the turn. Gillies had five holes iji fours and four holes in threes. He could have done the sixth hole in two but feared stymie. At the eighth hole he hit the back of the pin with the first putt. Playing against Gillies, Graham turned one up. Gillies levelled at the tenth but was two down at the sixteenth.

RECORD AT NEW BRIGHTON. Playing at New Brighton on Wednesday with Mr B. B. Wood, Clements captured the nine holes in 29, beating L. Hood's previous record of 30. The details are as follow :—3,3,4,4,3,3,3 2 4 29.
