LAND BOARDS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l feel constrained to pass a few remarks through the medium of your widely-read journal on the conduct'of our local Land Board. I note a report of the last meeting, as printed in your journal, just gives the information that certain transfers were granted. The question arises in my. mind: Are all those applications legitimate, and administered according to the .... original spirit of the Land for Settlements Act? Are the applicants land-. . less mon and women, and people who are not in the ranks of the pure specu- , lator tvpe, or are they those who have originally had similar holdings and. in- . deed, own perhaps quite sufficient land already? Mark you, I only nut these queries, looking for clean administration and hoping we are getting it, but from what is patent to the most casual observer, “ I ha’ ma doots.” —1 am, ©to. a ’ SCOTTY.
