.-;>i On- the occasion of his transfer to .ißealey Flat, the members of the Lyt-P-.telton Police Force met Constable . '-Cowan on Monday evening and hade v ..him farewell. Senior-Sergeant Ryan, -rafter making eulogistic reference to Cowan's work in the- port, ..presented him, on behalf of his feuowmembers, with a-shaving outfit. ...At the jubilee celebrations of the Addington Methodist Sunday School last evening, Mrs Lockwood, the oldest member of the Sunday school, was presented with a cabinet and a purse of sovereigns as a mark of the respect in which she is held by the congregation. In making the presentation, Mr T. Cutler spoke of Mrs Lockwood's work both as a scholar.and a teacher. Mr Ralph Lockwood replied on behalf of.his mother, and Mr 6. T. Booth, ,her brother, also returned thanks. ■] A presentation was made also to Miss ;t Griffith, who was the recipient of a
