CHRISTCHURCH TOWN HALL.

TO THU EDITOR. Sir, —Tt is quite -refreshing' to. observe, that some live interest- is being •cHs?--played. in the above project, and out of the many diverse views expressed it may bo taken for granted that some practical scheme will bo adopted. The subject is one in which every citizen must be deeply interested, and a healthy discussion will tend to remove prejudice and misapprehension. AVith this end in view the St Albans Burgesses’ Association have arranged for a meeting on Wednesday at the Bean Street Library, to which the public are invited.'—l am, etc., A. T>. HASSALL. TO THa EDITOR. Sir.—His AVorship the Mayor, in liis speech at the band rotunda, said the Town Hall would he built on that, portion of Victoria Square and tho band rotuuda removed to tho one opposite. Now, to my mind. A r ic.toria Square is not a very suitable site for a Town Hall for many reasons. There would be too. much noise from the tram traffic and no waiting spaco for carriages and motor-cars after any .special functions held at the Town Hall. Why not take tho south side of Latimer Square between AVorcester and Hereford Streets? The hall would ho seen to advantage and no noise from any traffic would be hoard in the hall.—l am, etc., PIONEER.
