REFORM AND DEFENCE.
TO THE EDITOR
Sir,—Speaking : at Sunnier Mr D. Jones told the benighted ladies of that dreamy borough a tale worthy of the Arabian Nights. .Comrade Massey abolished gaoling! Does Air D. Jones remember tha t his master attempted to address a large and enthusiastic meeting in the Theatre Royal in March last year? Does he remember that at the above-mentioued meeting oitr. comrade and brother told thojicommon herd that no more- lads would he gaoled? Also that some few days after be had fled from this city, two boys, the only support of their widowed,.mother, were flung into gaol for fourteen days? Will not Mr Jones be honest and tell us that the gaoling of lads ceased, not through the Massey party's desire for justice, but from the pressure of public opinion?—l am, etc.-. C. L. BEAKY.
