SURF-BATHING AND SUPPOSITIONS.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,—Suppose that a citizen, of any city were public-spirited enough and courageous enough to protest against some appearance of evil in the city’s life. And suppose that all the smallminded persons of that community were to refrain from suggesting that the courageous person aforementioned possessed an iinpuro mind, which sawevil where there was none, and which loved to grovel in the mire. And suppose that those in authority commenced at once with sensible measures for keeping the sport healthy. And supposo, like real “ sports,” they admired. the pluck of tho public-spirited individual (who had attacked the evil, not the sport) and suppose they passed a resolution telling him so. Whatever would happen?—l am, etc... MANHOOD.
