NEW BRIGHTON BATHING.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir.-—Kindly permit roc the space to put the truth before your readers regarding the uncalled-for nasty remarks made by the- Rev Mr Mathias, in regard to the so-called indecency carried on at New Brighton. The people were fully dressed and appeared at a. time In the evening when it had .nothing to do with tlie bathing and one can see the same thing anywhere in town after church hours without going to Brighton. But as far as tho.naked bathing is concerned, it has been already, explained in your paper that they had silk tights on and it was a family circle only, and the time was nine o'clock at night in the dark and a long way north of Uncle Tom's Cabin. It was out of our way, and what is more, the Rev Air Mathias only went by. hearsay. He said himself he had never., seen anything improper. Considering the big, orowdtf'yif visitors .we bad this summer If and all of us think that, everybody behaved themselves splendidly as a whole.- I am, etc., F. SUTER, Inspector.
