In connection with the ruiiiout- that the Government is establishing Efisou camp in Waimarino it ia now denitely announced that • the camp wjli be situated four miles froiri the- Wu«. marino railway station. Accommodation will bo provided for fourteen officers and men, but this will be increased as time goes on: The gang will be first employed'ln : making -the r6*d from Waimarino to Tokaanu, Laka Taupo, reducing the distance, as compared with the present Waiouru- route, j by over fourteen miles. When, this ia completed the labour is to be used in] forming roads, and tracks about Mount Ruapehu, and otherwise developing the Tongariro National Park.
