ADDINGTON CLUB. The thirteenth annual meeting of the Addington Club was held last night, Mr J. H. Jones presiding. . The annual. report stated that the club held a splendid position in Canterbury hockey son's Saturday competitions the club had entered two Senior; two Junior, one Third Grade and one Fourth Grade teams, but in the new competitions, drawn up in conjunction with the late Thursday teams, the club entered two Senior, one Junior, one Third Grade, one Fourth Grade and one Fifth • Grade teams. The teams in the first competition showed up well, with the exception of the Senior B, which in the second competition was withdrawn. The Senior team was rather unfortunate in not securing first ■ honours, the competition being a hard-fought one, but at the same time it put up a good performance in . the struggle for the championship. The Junior team , had to be satisfied with third place., .-The team was unfortunate in losing the services of two of its prominent players at a very critical time. The Third Grade team was the strongest the club had had for some years past. It was leading in the first round of the competition, but had to take third place in the final round. The Fourth Grade team had undoubtedly improved from all previous records, not .being far off the premiership. The Fifth Grade team did not have a full number of players. To encourage the younger players of the club, Mr H. J. Yates had offered a stick and a subscription paid for the season 1914, to the' most improved players in Grades four and five. At a five-a-side tournament held by the Canterbury Hockey Association during the season, the club was represented in each grade, but, was unsuccessful. The club was represented in the various provincial matches by Messrs Bellamy, Rundle, D. Smith, S. Smith, Chappell and Grammar (Seniors), and Messrs' Towns, Wilson, Bisman, R/ogers, Peters and Callon (Juniors). The membership of the club showed an increase from tho previous year by seven members. Tho committee expressed thanks _to Mr J. Mawson Stewart for his kindness in placing his room at the disposal of the club for its executive meetings.
