THE HUTT ROAD.

[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 4. The matter of giving relief to, the local bodies in regard to the expense of making the Hutt Road engaged the attention of the Cabinet yesterday. ■Mr Massey afterwards stated that the Government would ask Parliament to approve of a vote, of £40,000 on the understanding" that the - local bodies would find the balance of the £IOO,OOO required. •
