CHARGES OF SEDITION.

TRIALS IN HUNGARY.

By Telegraph—Pros# Association—Copyright. (Received March 5, 12.35 a.m.) BUDAPEST, March 4. Father Alexius, charged with sedition, was sentenced to four and a half years’ imprisonment, and thirty-one others from one to three years’ imprisonment. The remainder were acquitted.

Four are now suffering from religious madness.

(The trial of ninety-four persons, mostly Hungarian Ruthenians, was begun at Budapest in December. Two hundred and seventy-four witnesses were examined. The principal prisoner is a Russian monk, Father Alexius, from Mount Athos. His real name is Alexander lvabalyak. _ The prisoners were charged with seditious statements against tho Emperor Franz Josef and his dynasty. Hundreds of thousands of books and pamphlets were circulated inciting a rebellion with a view to joining Russia.)
