SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

REDCLIFFS. The 'Red-cliffs School Committee, met last ni"ht, all the members being p*B- - ° The headmaster's report showed an average attendance of fifty. The cup presented by Mr . George White, jnn, of Redcliffs, to the School Committee, to be presented to boys showing skill m sports, was received. A circular was received from the Education Board concerning the open-air teaching of delicate children. It was suggested that as pine trees played an important part in the treatment of various diseases the Education Board should purchase the belt of pine trees on the west side of the school, where much teaching, especially in the juvenile, classes, was already carried on. A further circular regarding school libraries was received from the Education Board, and a committee, with.Mr Colton as convener, was appointed to meet on March 28 to discuss the extension of the library for the district. It was decided that on and after Monday, April 1, the midday recess would be from noon to 1.30 p.m., to. allow the children at Monk's Bay and the Spur to have a hot meal during the winter months.
