SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

- RICHMOND. Tho monthly meeting of the Richmond School Committee was held on Tuesday, present: Alessrs Kennedy (chairman), Brown, Buist, Carter, Kay, [Pentecost and Taylor. The Education Board wroto stating that the Education Department had consented to the removal of tho headmaster’s house, the ground to bo used for the enlargement of the girls’ playground. Air J. Currio forwarded his resignation, which was received with rogret, and Mr F. Christian was elected to fill tho vacancy. Tho secretary reported that the ladies had formed a sewing bee to make articles for the work-stall in connection with tho school fair, to be held on December 17 and 18. A vote of thanks was passed to the Lily of Richmond Druids’ Lodge for placing their hall at the disposal of tho sewing bee. The headmaster reported the average attendance to be 632, with a roll-number of 710. The school children had attended His Alajesty’s Theatre last Friday to view a series of pictures arranged by tjie Navy League. It was resolved to write congratulating the master and staff upon the high standard of efficiency maintained in the school, as shown by the inspector’s report- Accounts amounting to £1 11s 9d were pnssed for payment.
