UNITED LABOUR PARTY.

CHRISTCHURCH SOUTH BRANCH. Tho monthly meeting of the Christchurch South branch of the United Labour Party was held in the Methodist Schoolroom hist evening. Mr W. A. Pleydell presided over a very large attendance. • Correspondence was read from tho Auckland branch, stating that the Hon G. Fowlds had joined the party, and would tour New Zealand on its behalf. A telegram was received from tho dominion executive, asking the branch to make arrangements for Mr Fowlds to address a public meeting in Christchurch. The secretary stated that he had secured the Choral Hall for May 21. His action was endorsed, and arrangements wore made to meet the Trades Council and the Labour Representation Committee for the purpose of taking joint action to make the meeting a success. The secretary was instructed to ask the dominion. executive if arrangements could not be made for meetings in Tiniaru and Ashburton. It was unanimously decided to accept the constitution and platform of the United Labour Party, _as drafted by the Unity Conference, in Wellington. The secretary reported that final arrangements had been made in connection with the proposed euchre tournament and dance. It was decided that in future the meetings should bo held on the last Tuesday in the month.
