THEATRE ROYAL.

On Saturday evening " Ererywom&n" was presented for the last time by the <J. C. Williamson Dramatic Company. To-night " Passers By," a comedy-1 drama by Haddon Chambers, author of "The Tyranny of Tears," will be pro-' duced. The play has been highly successful .in London and New York, and was one of the successes of last year's season in the two capitals. '' Passers By" will bo produced for four nights and the season ivill then be concluded. SYDENHAM~PIOTURES. . The programme shown at the Sydenham Picture Palace on Saturday was of a very pleasing character, and the attendances wero very large at both the afternoon and evening exhibitions. The principal feature, was a rather lengthy drama entitled '.' The Rose Rouge, or His Life for a Flower." From every point of view it is a first-class production. There is a powerful plot running, through it, the acting is good, and the. photographic- qualities leave nothing to be desired. A weird -Apache' dance is introduced, and it is cleverly performed by tivo notable Italian actors. The remaining items Jare-. all worthy of mention. "'The Younger Brother" is a Vitagraph drama, a military "picture ofVthe Soudan, and the numerous thrilling situations were followed with interest by the audience. "A Sister's Love,'' in) American Biograph drama, added largely to the.siiocess of the programme. A most inter> esting film was "Whale Industry of Natal.". The industry is shown from the capture of the huge sea monster to the cutting up of the body and the boiling down of the blubber. The Gaumont Graphic" contained many interesting recent topical events. The principal humorous film was a Vitagraph comedy, entitled "In the Clutches of a Vapour Bath," with the incomparable John Bunny in the principal role. The other comic films were, " His Girl is Coming," and " Dupin and the Stolen Necklace." The same programme will be repeated to-night. ORGAN RECITAL. Dr Bradshaw last evening gave the second of a series of Sunday evening organ recitals in His Majesty's Theatre. The programme, which proved exceed* ingly popular, included the following items:—March upon a theme of Handel, "Lift Up Your Heads" (Guilmant); The King's Prayer from "Lohengrin" (Wagner); Larghetto from the 2nd Symphony (Beethoven); \ Air with Variations (Hiles); Eastei Hymn from " Cavalliera Rusticana'' (Mascagni); Fanfare in D (Lemmens). FULLER'S PICTURES. ' Large audiences attended the Colosseum on Saturday afternoon and evening. To-night the new programme will include:—"Nature in.; its Winter Clothes," "Black Chasm," "The Author," '.'■ National Hunt Steeplechase," "Mender of Nets," "Captain Jenk's Dilemma," " The Prosecuting Counsel," and "Stage-struck Lizzie." OPERA HOUSE. • . ..' There was a good attendance at the Opera House on Saturday evening, and the programme was well received. A change of bill will be made to-night, and ariiong the new artists to appear will be the Driscoll Brothers, patter comedians; Roy Rene, a Hebrew impersonator; Joe Gilbert, balladist; Athos, a skate expert, who will introduce a spectacular scene entitled "A Carnival on the Ice." WEST-HAYWARD PICTURES. At His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday large and appreciative audiences witnessed the West-Hayward Pictures. To-night a new programme will be submitted and will include:—"The Prosecuting Counsel,V "Launch of the Titanic," "Manchester Canal." "The Tenderfoot Foreman,"" " At the Threshold of Life," " She Came, She Saw, She Conquered," "Love in Many Moods," and " A Brave Fireman." OLYMPIA RINK. Skating continues to grow in popularity and on Saturday all the sessions wore largely attended. To-day the Olympia Rink will be open for the regular sessions. " THE GREAT JANSEN." On Saturday "Jansen tho Great," I who was described by the Sydney " Daily Telegraph " as " the most brilliant entertainer ever seen in Sydney," will commence a brief season at the Theatre Royal. Jansen is regarded as one of the leading magicians of .the stage at present, and his travelling has been extensive. Like most conjurers, he has visited China, and, it is stated, was present in Hong Kong when the first victories of the Chineso republican army were announced. In Hong Kouz he assisted in a wholesale cutting-off or queues. In New Zealand Jansen has already appeared before crowded houses in Auckland and Wellington. He will be supported by a specially selected company of vaudeville artists. The box plan will be opened at the Dresden Piano Company on Wednesday.'
