MEETINGS OF PARISHIONERS

ST. LUKE'S, HINDS.

I The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Luke's Church, Hinds, was held in the hall on Friday evening, when the vicar, the Rev J. H. Rogers, presided. The vicar in his address stated that he intended to start an extra service, and Mr C. M. Strachey, of Ashburton, was giving valuable assistance m the matter. A branch of the Church of England's Men's Society had been formed during the year, with ■Mr J. Cook as secretary. The balancesheet showed a credit balance of. £7O, of which £2O had been transferred to the fabric account. The loan on the vicarage had been reduced by £25. Mr .'). Studholme wa3 appointed vicar's warden, ,<tnd Mr L. do C. Malet was elected parishioners' warden. The vestry was elected as follows:—Hinds, Messrs E. Woolloy and John Cook; Carew, Mr C. J. LeCren; Ealing, Mr R. Guinness; Lismore, Lowcliffe and Coldstream neprescntatives to be nominated later; district secretary and treasurer, Mr John Cook. It was resolved that no money for church pur- , poses should be collected in the district without the consent of the churchwardens. A voto of thanks was passed to Mr A. Roberts (auditor) and to all helpers during the year. Archdeacon Elisor delivered an 'address, and at the close supper was handed round.
