Messrs Dalgsty and Company have received the following cable message from their London office:—"Better demand for New Zealand frozen lamb, fair demand for New Zealand mutton, good demand for New Zealand beef. The market for New Zealand beef and lamb is firm owing to light stocks, and likely to remain firm. The market for New Zealand mutton is dull. Quotations: New Zealand prime cross-bred lamb, Canterbury') heavy and light, ofd, North Island oid. New Zealand prime cross-bred mutton—Canterbury, heavy and light, 4sd; North Island, heavy SJd, light 4d. New Zealand prime ox heef, forequarters 3id, hindquarters 4d. The frozen meat market may advance, but frozen mutton 'is weak, though without quotable change." Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., have received cable advice from their head office that an interim dividend of 4s per share (at the rate of 8 per cent per annum) has been declared and will bo payable on May 15.
