HON T. Y. DUNCAN.

PRESENTATION AT OAMARU

[Per Press Association.] OAMARU, May 2

There was a large attendance tonight at the presentation of an address and purse of sovereigns to the Hon T. Y. Duncan. The Prime Minister attended, and-was well received. Ho was accompanied by the Hon T. Buxton. The proceedings were very enthusiastic. Mr Duncan had represented the district for about thirty years, and the purse presented to him was a heavy one. The Prime Minister, in his address, referred to the political situation, and said that if tho Government was defeated when the House met it would not be afraid to face the country, and would strive for a dissolution.
