NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. The executive of the New Zealand Hockey Association met last evening; present:—Messrs D. Manson (in the chair), H. S. J. Goodman, 11. J. Yates, B. G. Midgley, \V. G. Burley as a member of the executive, consequent upon his removal to Auckland, was received with regret. In response to a request from tho •Eketahuna Club for instructions as to' affiliation, it was decided that tho club must affiliate with Masterton Centre. " '' ' The Canterbury. Centre wrote recommending that' the rules for challenge matches should be amended to insure a gong being sounded at the commencement and end of each half, that all matches should start at 2.30 p.m., and that an official timekeeper should be present. The matter was referred- to tho Shield Committee. The Auckland Association wrote giving particulars of steps it had taken to foster hockey amongst schoolboys. It was decided to. forward a copy of the letter to all affiliated Associations. THURSDAY COMPETITIONS. The second round was nlayed yesterday in fine - weather, but. the grounds were rather heavy. At Sydenham Park Drapers defeated Sydenham A and Sydenham B defeated Lyttelton. Both games were very fast, and the younger teams deserved their wins. The following are the results: — SENIORS. Drapers defeated Sydenham A at Sydenham Park'by five goals, shot by M'Lelland, Parker and Milne, one each, to one, scored by Holland. Mr P. Riches was referee. Sydenham B defeated Lyttelton at Sydenham Park by two goals, scored by J. Gray, to one. scored by E. Green. Mr Cusworth was' referee. St iLuko's aud Union Rowing Club played a drawn frame at St Albans Park. S. Burton scored for St Luke's and'Frame for Union Rowing Club. Mr J, Skarnian was referee. ' JUNIORS. At St Albans Park Drapers heat Sydenham, who were four men short, by •eight goals, shot by Morten (3;, Faulkner (3) and -Nunnery (2),. to one,

scored by Teague. Mr T. Whyte wbj referee. 'A

Lyttelton defeated Bible Class at the Polo Ground bv four goals, scored by Payne (2), Webb and Blackler, to nil. Mr R. Calvert was referee.

Union Rowing Club beat Young Men's Christian Association at St Albans Park by three goals-to nil.- Mi J. Coll was referee.
