WELLINGTON TRAMWAYS.

[Per Press Association.] .WELLINGTON, February 26. At a special meeting of the City Council to-night it was decided in view of the .proposed reorganisation of the tramwav 6ervioe that no appointment of traffic superintendent should be made from the present applicant's. A permanent tramways board was set up, comprising Messrs W. H. Morton, city engineer, Stuart Richardson, electrical engineer, and the traffic superintendent. Mr Morton well be chairman of the board, which will manage the tramways on policy linos laid down by the Council. This will relieve the Council and particularly the tramways conimittee of a great amount of detail work. Mr M. Cable, assistant electrical engineer and assistant manager of the tramways, was appointed acting traffic superintendent at £550 a year.
