LYTTELTON. A fortnightly meeting of the Lyttelton . Borough Council was held last evening; present—the Mayor (Mr AI. J. Miller), and Councillors J. Paco, C. Cook, W. T. Foster, S. R. Webb, F. Anderson, J. Collins, J. R. Webb and N. Schumacher. An apology was received for the absence of Councillor Radcliffe. Tho AVater Supply Committee reported that Air Horne, wellsinker, had cleaned the old cylinder well at Heathcote Valley pumping station. After' taking out the silt and shingle he lound that there was a supply of at least SCCO gallons per hour from this well, besides what was pumped from the other wells in the vicinity, and he recommended that the well should be coupled up with a small pump to lift the extra supply. The report was adopted. The * pumping station engineer’s report stated that 5,637,000 gallons of ’water had been pumped during February, a decrease of 9000 gallons as compared with the quantity pumped during the same month in 1910. The Finance Committee’s report showed that the receipts since the previous meeting had been £l3Ol Is lOd. Accounts for £253 4s 3d were passed for payment. The district fund account was in debit £5148 5s (id and the drainage loan account had a credit of £123 16s Bd.
