[Per Press Association.] TAIHAPE, March 6. A man named Tweedlco had a narrow escape’in trying to board a moving train. He fell between tho carriages, but retained his hold of tho stanchion. The train was stopped by the stationmastor flashing; a red light, and the promptness of the driver saved th 9 man’s life WELLINGTON, March 6. William Sherwood, who was injured on the wharf on Saturday, died last night. INVERCARGILL, March 6. An unusual incident occurred here this morning, when a young man named Montagu Clark, a "wool sorter, a recent arrival from Christchurch, walked in his sleep at the Carriers’ Arms Hotel and fell through a skylight, badly cutting himself, mostly about the scalp. Clark is now progressing satisfactorily at the hospital.
On Saturday night, at Akaroa, Edward Marsh, who for several years drove a coach from Akaroa to Little River, cut his throat, inflicting a wound which necessitated severaL stitches being put in by Dr Al’Reddie.
