WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY

[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 6,

It is now proposed to erect a highpower wireless telegraphy station in Auckland instead of at Doubtless Bay, as originally intended. Sir Joseph Ward this morning informed a reporter that ho was not at present in a position to make any definite statement, as he wanted expert opinion on the matter, but he added that as a result of the.experimental work done in Wellington it would appear that with a high-power plant Auckland could easily he brought into wireless communication with Sydney, Fiji and other distant places. The erection of a highpower station near existing electrical motive power is also a point in favour of its establishment at Auckland instead of Doubtless Bay.
