DEBENTURE SCHEME WITHDRAWN.

Mr Elder, of the firm of Messrs John Cooke and Company, states that owing to strong expressions of public opinion the debenture scheme of the Meat Trust has been withdrawn. However, ho does not expect a complete retreat of the men to whom the debentures were offered, who are faced with tho alternative of buying shares or meeting competition from now works.
